I’m Raquel, an “unofficial” author, a photographer of nature and a very happy crafter.
I was born and raised in the Bronx N.Y but have lived all over the U.S due to my husband’s former military(Marine Corps) career.

I enjoy making up my own children’s stories for my kids and since they LOVE it when I do that, I decided to publish my stories for them on another awesome website called, blurb.com where they print out your books for you, illustrations and all. This is why I call myself an “unofficial” author.

As I mentioned, I also love taking photographs of the people and things that surround me. I take my camera everywhere I go because I never know when I’ll get inspired by something. My favorite thing to photograph is nature which is funny because I am not a lover of the outdoors at all. I do however appreciate its beauty.

Now my true passion is this right here. I absolutely love and appreciate personalized and handmade things and truly enjoy making them. I have been doing this for 6 years now. This is my hobby, my stress reliever. Whether I am happy, mad, anxious or sad, this is what I turn to. When I am feeling down, this lifts me up and when I am feeling happy, this keeps me on cloud 9. Needless to say, I spend a lot of my free time painting and decoupaging on anything wooden. It brings me great satisfaction to take an unfinished wooden item, and with a little bit of paint, paper and a few other elements transform it into something totally different, awesome and new and to be able to say, I created that.

I do not specialize in any one thing in particular. I just go with what I feel like making. Sometimes I have an idea for a nice jewelry box, and other times I want to paint a birdhouse, or a hanging frame etc. Sometimes I want to crackle or distress something and other times I just want to make an item that is bold and fun. Whatever it may be I ALWAYS have fun with ever piece and put a lot of love, time and care into each item I make.
